The International Cryptographic Module Conference (ICMC) is a growing forum for global expertise in commercial cryptography. At the third annual edition of the conference this fall, industry leaders from over 20 countries will convene to address the unique challenges faced by those who produce, use, and test cryptographic modules that conform with standards such as FIPS 140-2 and ISO/IEC 19790. The conference helps to foster a focused, organized community of users. ICMC covers the technical design problems to meet the standard, with a particular emphasis on the challenges posed as technology advances with respect to the current standards.

ICMC reviews technical topics underlying the implementation of a cryptographic module including physical security, key management, side-channel analysis, cryptographic algorithm implementation testing, standardization (FIPS 140-2, ISO/IEC 19790), validation programs and more.
Who Should Attend

The conference is for those interested in developing, specifying and procuring certified commercial off the shelf cryptographic modules; manufacturers of cryptographic modules compliant with FIPS 140-2 or ISO/IEC 19790 around the world; laboratories and government departments responsible for testing cryptographic modules against FIPS 140-2 or ISO/IEC 19790 including the U.S., Canada, Japan, South Korea and Spain; key players and stakeholders in standards development; leading members of the academic community; embedded systems OEMs; and the side channel research community.
Conference Program

Conference sessions begin Thursday, November 6, with keynote presentations by two industry pioneers: As the creator of Pretty Good Privacy, an early email encryption software package, Philip R. Zimmermann is one of the founding fathers of the encryption industry. He is currently the co-founder of Silent Circle, a provider of secure communications services. Paul Kocher is a co-author of the widely used SSL 3.0 standard, a pioneer in the field of side channel attacks, and currently president and chief scientist? of Cryptography Research, a division of Rambus. Together, these keynotes will provide a unique perspective from both the defense and attack point of view.

The 2-day ICMC Showcase Exhibition includes providers of testing laboratory services, certification services, consulting services, and cybersecurity solutions. You'll have the opportunity to meet leading vendors during breaks, lunches, and other hospitality events. A one-day testing laboratory showcase will take place on Thursday, November 6. You'll be able to survey a wide range of available testing services.
